Misbourne students achieve new national top grades

Following on from the successes of our ‘A’ level results last week, students at The Misbourne are again celebrating with some outstanding GCSE results.  Students are sitting the new, harder national examinations in English Language, English Literature and Mathematics.  We were delighted that 80% of all our students achieved passes in both English and Mathematics.  In all other subjects, the school results were again higher than previous years with our continuing upward trend.
Robert Preston, Head Teacher, said ‘these are really good results and I applaud my students and staff for their endeavours.  I congratulate students and staff for coping so brilliantly with the new national courses in English and Mathematics and the results are very pleasing indeed.  In particularly commend a group of my students who achieved the new prestigious grade 9 in English and/or Mathematics which is higher and rarer than the old A*.  This means that those students are in the top 2% of all students’ results in the country.  A stunning and brilliant achievement.
Some of our top achievers include:
Lauren Agar-Rea; Anabelle Byron; Gregory Clarke; Miri Hammond; Sarah Collier; Catherine Piercy; Sabrina Lund; Marriam Riaz; Liam Rutland; Dominic Bingham; Christina Vasiliu; Jack Faulkner; Finn Faircloth.
