Parents and students from Year 12 heard presentations from Asim Mahmood of Bucks New University, former student Harrison Darvill of Bournemouth University, former student Katie Morgans of Cardiff University, and Helen Twiggs of QA Apprenticeships. Members of the Sixth Form team including Mr Dwight, Mrs Cook and Mrs Hill also updated the audience on the school programme of support for university applications and careers.

Topics covered included: Why should you consider going to university?   Or taking an apprenticeship?

  • How much does it now cost to go to university?
  • How do you go about researching and visiting universities?
  • Are students allowed time off school to visit university open days?
  • What is a UCAS application and when is it completed? What makes a good personal statement?
