Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium

Total to be received in 17/18 £94,420 which includes £2700 for Service Children

The Government introduced the Pupil Premium into main school funding to address inequalities between children registered as eligible for free school meals (FSM) at any point in the last 6 years or who are looked after or have left local authority care.

Since April 2011 there has also been a Services Pupil Premium in recognition of the specific challenges children from service families face, this is available to children with families that are in the armed services or have been in the last six years.

Schools are free to spend the Pupil Premium as they see fit. However, they will be held accountable for how it has been spent to support students. We are also required by the Department for Education to publish this information online. This will ensure that parents are fully aware of the money received and how it is spent.

At The Misbourne, we work on an individualised approach, reviewing each individual student’s needs.  With all interventions we look at removing concerns you would see if support were not in place to ensure that all PP students have the same opportunities as others.

We utilise funding to target progress and arrange/run personalised interventions as well as support student’s needs with general financial support for trips, music lessons, uniform and equipment for learning.
